In Tanzania, youths (15-35 years) constitute about 35% of the population following the biggest group of children (0-15) constitutes 44% of the population, majority of this group will belong to youth group in the near future. Young people are not only representing the future or just the large group of our country, they are main agents of change and progress. Tanzania needs young people to turn problems into opportunities and solutions and being the driving force of society now than ever before. Tanzania youth development policy of 2007, has vision that state “to have empowered, well-motivated and responsible youth capable of participating effectively in social, political and economic development of the society.” Youths need to be empowered as well as well-motivated so that they can play their genuine role in society development. Tanzania meanwhile has been facing broad spectrum of public health concerns like maternal and child deaths, HIV/AIDS, climate change, mental health, nutrition, infectious diseases, malaria, non-infectious disease, neglected tropical diseases, antimicrobial resistance, gender inequalities which has been claiming millions lives of Tanzania innocent people. Tanzania Government and health stakeholders have been employing broad spectrum evidence-based interventions toward achievement of Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs) by 2030, however the progress is still not amenable. Therefore, empowering and motivating youths will have significant impacts on achieving SDGs by 2030.Tanzania Youth Health Platform (TYHP) is aiming at empowering and motivating young people to learn, address and implement public health concerns interventions to mitigate public health concerns in Tanzania.
